Le Petit Pali at Ocean Ave

We had an amazing time at Le Petit Pali at Ocean Ave! For our first stay in Carmel by the Sea it was the absolute perfect location; great for walking through downtown or to Carmel Beach and our room had a view of the ocean! The staff were all friendly and welcoming, the included breakfast is perfect with fresh baked goods, really good coffee and fresh squeezed juices ( we particularly loved the green juice). Our only possible improvement is that the rooms are pretty small and really light on storage space (maybe we brought too much stuff but for a longer stay it's definitely a storage challenge). That said, the decor is really cute, the shower is amazing, and I lived the little fireplace in the room. Note that carmel is really hilly so the bikes are really cute but will be work getting back k up the hills :)

At Le Petit Pali, the special touches and attention to detail make all the difference. From the complimentary sparkling rosé upon check-in to the welcome note, chocolate and fresh cookies delivered to the room, every touchpoint makes guests feel extra special. The decor is gorgeous and unique. The common areas are beautifully decorated, clean, and intentionally inviting - great gathering places if guests want to meet others during their daily "social hour" 3-8pm which features a complimentary signature cocktail and other drinks for purchase. You can't beat the location right in the heart of downtown Carmel, walkable to beaches, shops, and restaurants. The front desk staff were welcoming, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable about the area - they gave wonderful dinner recommendations. 10/10 - would stay here again!

An aesthetically beautiful hotel. Stunning interiors. Old school motel meets preppy, old-money beach house interiors. A lovely place to stay.

I read the reviews before coming and wasn’t sure what to expect - reviews said one thing, photos another - but this place? Pictures don’t give it justice and comments about a “posh motel” are a complete miss clearly written by someone with little sophistication and attention to detail. I’ve traveled all over and I have a stack of hotel statuses. I’m usually the first person to notice when something is off, particularly in 5* hotels, and I always hope that someone, one day, will get it right. And it’s not that most hotels simply “forget” the details. They make calculated, commercial decisions: choose the cheapest plastic water bottles, the cheap toxic toiletries, the processed snacks, the flimsy wine glasses… if any. Knowing only a tiny fraction of guests will ever complain and they are OK with it as a business model. This place is the opposite. It has soul. You can tell someone cared - someone with actual taste. Two beautiful glass bottles of water. Vegan snacks options. Lavender tea capsules and stylish china. French toiletries. Italian toothpaste. Riedel glasses and proper wine waiting without needing to call anyone. A cute, high-quality bathrobe. Every detail feels chosen by a human who wanted the experience to be genuinely good like hosting a family or a guest they actually care about. Not the usual “charge & forget”, “let’s see if they even believe complaining will get them anywhere”, “who cares pictures don’t match reality”. The colors, textures, materials, the nightstands, even the hidden sockets - all the small design choices that other hotels ignore - are done perfectly. The room is coherent, warm, and honestly a little surprising in how thoughtful it is. It’s rare for me to walk into a hotel room and immediately feel that nothing is missing. It’s not even my usual design style - but I have full appreciation and really enjoy the amazing work someone did here!

I only stayed here for two nights but loved every second. Prime location in Carmel (not even a 30 second walk to amazing shopping and restaurants), close to the beach, and only a ~45 minute drive to Big Sur. Rooms are adorable. Staff deliver the most amazing chocolate chip cookies to the rooms every night from 6-7p — s/o to whomever cleaned my room and gave me extras! Parking can be a bit tight, but that's not enough to deduct any stars. I can't wait to come back. Thanks guys.

Our stay at Le Petit Pali was absolutely magical. The property is stunning, cozy, and every detail is thoughtfully curated. From the luxe toiletries to the breakfast and even the butter, everything felt top quality. The rooms were beyond adorable and so comfortable. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, and breakfast each morning was delicious. Our favorite moments were hanging by the fire with friends, playing games, and drinking wine. They are also extremely dog friendly. Our pup had the best time. The location is unbeatable and truly made our trip unforgettable. We cannot wait to come back.

Le Patit Pali is a very cute place that is in the perfect location. Everything in town was about a 2-10 minute walk. The champagne breakfast is a nice touch and unique. It is quite expensive and having an amenity fee of $40 a day when there are no other “amenities” is kind of wild. That said, on the weekends they do have local business com and you can try food/drinks for free from 5-6pm. My main critique is the rooms are quite small with no closet. The bathroom is separated by barn doors that don’t close all the way so privacy while in the bathroom is not all there. Additionally the shower drain wasn’t working the first night and it took complaining about it 3 times to get them to fix it.

From the moment we arrived at this charming hotel, I was completely blown away by the exceptional service and attention to detail. The front receptionist lady was welcoming, and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of perfect. It’s clear they take great pride in creating a memorable experience for each guest as they arrive. Prepare to enjoy a glass of sparkling rose wine. The French-inspired decor throughout lobby and rooms was absolutely stunning, transporting me straight to Paris. The elegance and refinement of every room and common area made it feel like a luxurious escape. Every corner was thoughtfully designed, with beautiful touches that added to the overall ambiance. Very quaint and small hotel, not the huge corporate hotel model. To top it all off, the baked pastries were divine! Freshly made, they were the perfect complement to our morning coffee. And let’s not forget the sparkling rosé—such a delightful treat that made us feel like we were indulging. This hotel exceeded all expectations in every way, and we can’t wait to return. It’s rare to find such a combination of impeccable service, stunning decor, rooms with fireplace and thoughtful touches that make you feel truly special. Highly recommend!
